The R07's key technical advances in the SB2 include cylinder diameter of 4,500 inch centers (compared to 4,400 inches in SB2) that enhance the cooling flow, a high camshaft that improves the dynamic valve train, a new six-bolt head bolt pattern that reduces cylinder distortion and a special cooling system that minimizes temperature at critical locations. A camshaft tunnel molten jet piston member galleries, and overhead power galleries oil to reduce engine assembly time. Relocating the fuel pump and eliminating external oil and coolant lines enhance safety.
